What is Changing? WelbeHealth is implementing the ANSI X12 835 Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), the electronic version of an Explanation of Benefits (EOB). The 835 details payments, denials, and adjustments (CARC/RARC codes) associated with your claims.
Implementation Details
• 835 Enrollment: No action is required to begin receiving 835s. Starting April 1, 2026, WelbeHealth will automatically send 835s to all providers who submit claims electronically via a clearinghouse.
• Effective Date: 835s will be generated for all claims with a processed date of April 1, 2026 or later.
• File Location: 835 files will be available through your established EDI trading partner mailbox.
• Dual Delivery: Paper EOBs will continue unless you opt out after enrolling in EFT (electronic funds transfer) with WelbeHealth.
To Opt Out of Paper EOBs:
1. Enroll in EFT by contacting providers@welbehealth.com.
2. Once enrolled, email HPSConfig@welbehealth.com from an authorized representative with the following information:
• Subject Line: Important: EOB OPT OUT – [Your Organization’s Name]
• Applicable TAX ID Number(s)
• Applicable NPI Number(s)
• Contact Info (current billing phone number and/or email)
• Request: “I request to opt out of receiving WelbeHealth paper EOBs for the above TINs/NPIs, effective immediately.”
Action Required: Work with your clearinghouse or software vendor to ensure your system is configured to receive and post 835 files.
